Arboriculture at Home: A DIY Guide to Tree Care, An Introduction

At Blue Ox, part of our mission is to maintain an up-to-date education about trees and tree care by attending arboricultural classes, maintaining certifications, and consuming any literature we can find. But we feel that knowledge, like most things, is better off shared, and we want to educate and empower homeowners when it comes to their urban forests. In that spirit, we’re proud to announce the launch of our new blog series, Arboriculture at Home—an educational guide tailored specifically to homeowners in Texas with a DIY-attitude and a pair of hedge clippers.

We understand and appreciate that there may be times when you don't want to hire a crew just to tackle the small jobs on your property that seem doable, and we want to help you take the guesswork out of tree care. Arboriculture at Home will address everything you need to know about maintaining your urban forest: from which tools are worth keeping in your shed, to how to make proper pruning cuts, to identifying issues and hazards before they arise, to tips and tricks for improving the vitality of your trees.

Have a specific question about your trees or tree care in general that we haven't addressed yet? Ask them in the comments or send us an email at info@blueoxuf.com and we'll be more than happy to put together a post to address your concerns. This series is for you, and we're excited to hear more about what you want to learn.

Let’s talk trees!
